Quality and environmental management at Megatrade

For years, Megatrade has prioritised high quality and the sustainable development of our company. Therefore, since 2015, Megatrade has worked in accordance with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental management systems. We were last audited in both in the spring of 2021.

But we have not stopped there. In 2019, we connected our own solar cells, where we produce our own electricity and resell any surplus, thus achieving more environmentally friendly and sustainable green energy. In addition, we sort and recycle everything we possibly can in our day-to-day activities.

Most recently, we have actively implemented the various Global Goals. ‘Sourcing for a sustainable world’ has become our slogan, reminding the world around us and ourselves of how important it is for everyone to contribute to this ambitious climate effort on behalf of the future of the planet. Thus, not only do we work day in and day out for an equal work culture - as a non-producing company, we also make every effort to contribute to economic growth on the basis of responsible consumption and production. We encourage our suppliers to adopt climate-friendly initiatives, and annually assess our carriers and shipping agents in terms of how good they are at optimising our deliveries.

Our management system itself applies to all the company's employees and is based on the main processes that create value for our customers: Marketing, Sales, Delivery and Service.

Every year, we carry out risk management and revision of goals, objectives and action plans so that the system always reflects current requirements and specific challenges that may arise either internally or externally. On the basis of ongoing measurements, we evaluate our overall performance vis-à-vis the various goals, after which we adjust the effort and implement any necessary improvements. So our system lives like us. It is not just words on paper.

Megatrade is audited annually by third parties, which is your guarantee that we take our responsibility seriously.

Should you have any questions or would like to gain more insight into our system and processes, you are welcome to contact us.

The quality management system ISO 9001

It is crucial to update and develop both workflows, attitudes and competencies continuously, so that we always have full focus on maintaining and improving the quality of our products and services.

A/S Megatrade Beslag  implemented a complete quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001. We first obtained the certification in 2015.

Quality policy and target areas

Our quality policy is to:

  • act quickly and professionally when customers or other stakeholders approach us
  • ensure, to the extent possible, that the product we supply is the optimal solution for the customer’s application
  • deliver on time with the agreed quality
  • ensure that the organisation has the necessary competencies and framework
  • ensure active cooperation within and between departments
  • comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements

We deploy quality goals and measurements and focus on continuous improvement in the areas of:

  • error level
  • reliability of delivery
  • response times
  • supplier evaluation
  • customer satisfaction

The ISO 14001 environmental management system

Megatrade recognises that we must take the environment seriously and that we are forced to actively promote environmental activities in order to protect this planet, not only for ourselves but also for future generations.

We implemented a complete environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001. We first obtained the certification in 2017. Due to the nature of the business and from a life cycle perspective, the predominant environmental impact is the emission of greenhouse gases as a result of the production and transport of products.

As Megatrade as a trading company does not itself manufacture, this places great demands on our sourcing of products and the choice of suppliers, who we want to align with our own priorities. Therefore, evaluations and ongoing procurement considerations are paramount.

Concrete initiatives we have taken in recent years include:

the implementation of solar cells at premises in Hvidovre and changing to electricity supply from renewable energy sources at both our branches, so that in 2021 we will switch to 100% electricity consumption from renewable energy sources.

Sorting and recycling of waste: e.g. using cardboard box filling made from shredded, used cardboard boxes.

We always carefully assess which shipping method is most appropriate, both environmentally and financially.

Environmental policy and target areas

Our environmental policy is to:

  • ensure that employees know and understand environmental policy and act accordingly
  • ensure that employees know the action plans and actively participate where appropriate
  • map the impact and renew the action plans on an annual basis
  • comply with relevant laws and regulations

We deploy environmental policy goals, focusing on:

  • prioritisation of environmentally conscious suppliers and partners
  • optimisation of the overall logistics
  • reduction of resource consumption at the company’s locations
  • limitation of accidents, and the consequences thereof, which may harm the external environment
  • the UN’s Global Goals in relation to responsible environmental consumption and environmental management etc.
