Megatrade is celebrating its 50th anniversary

The family-owned company Megatrade is celebrating its 50th anniversary in October and, on this occasion, is also marking an ambitious vision for the future, with a strong focus on growth and further expansion.

The family-owned company, Megatrade, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this month. The company, which offers customer-specific industrial components and services, has developed significantly over the years, always maintaining respect for the company's long history. Today, they stand with a strong strategic foundation and are looking towards a future where further international expansion will be secured through a new growth strategy.

– When I took over the job as CEO after my husband Peter Galtt, it was a traditional family business with customers primarily in the wind industry. At that time, we also had a sharp focus on international customers in Europe, Asia, and the USA. It's a focus we have maintained, but there is also great potential for development in the international market, which we will be focusing on even more strongly in the future, says Susanne Galtt, CEO and owner of Megatrade. She elaborates:

– In the nearly nine years I have been at the helm of Megatrade, we have evolved from being a component supplier to becoming a sourcing and service partner for our customers, and this is a significant change that makes us an even more valuable collaborator, capable of delivering everything our customers demand.

Strategy is crucial

Megatrade provides customer-specific solutions for renewable energy and other industrial markets such as automation, food, and machine manufacturing. The transformation into becoming a sourcing and service partner is a result of the strategic direction that Susanne Galtt initiated nine years ago.

– When I took over the company, everything was about operations, there was no time to think about strategy. Therefore, it has been a long and hard but significant process to create a strategic foundation. We are stronger now, and although there have been major changes, I am proud that we have consistently delivered so strongly on maintaining customer focus throughout, says Susanne Galtt.

The appointment of the current professional board and the hiring of Jesper Mølbach Thomsen as CCO earlier this year are further steps Susanne Galtt has taken to create a strong foundation that can carry the company into the future.

– It has been of enormous importance to me that the board has come in and taken responsibility, and that Jesper and I, together with them, have been able to lay out the strategic direction. We are a small company, but we have enormous ambitions. We have developed into being a preferred service partner, and we must now build further on that position, says Susanne Galtt.

Logistical problem solver

When Megatrade founded its sister company in China 11 years ago, it was with the idea of expanding and, through the location in Asia, ensuring far better efficiency, competitive production, and optimal logistical solutions. The latter, in particular, was one of the crucial aspects during the pandemic, when all productions and supplies were under pressure.

– Our sister company in China has been crucial in enabling us to offer optimal solutions and ensure a constant supply because we have access to unique partners. There is no doubt that the pandemic was hard on us, like so many others, but we managed to maintain effective logistical solutions, and that certainly helped us get through safely, says Susanne Galtt and elaborates:

– There is no doubt that when we succeed in transitioning from being a component supplier to a sourcing and service partner, and manage to get through crises well, it is largely due to our dedicated employees. They make an invaluable effort for our customers, and at the same time ensure a sustainable culture internally in the company.
